In honor of the sacrifice made by the individuals whose remains were recovered during a JPAC mission, JPAC periodically holds an Honors Ceremony with a joint service honor guard and senior officers from each service. Veterans, community members and local active-duty military and family members attend the ceremonies to pay their respects to fallen heroes who were missing as a result of our nation's past wars.
Following the ceremony, the remains of these unaccounted for service members are returned to the JPAC Central Identification Laboratory where the forensic identification process continues. Once identifications are established, the next-of-kin are notified before the names are publicly announced.
Advisories are sent out to inform the public of specific dates and times. If you would like to be included on our mailing list, please add your information to this link. For access to the base to attend a ceremony or for more information, contact Public Affairs.
